Formerly known as Shackleton Finance Limited, Gorilla Tech Capital merges established regulated fund-management discipline with the technology origination and delivery capability of Gorilla Technology Group. Our focus is firmly forward: structuring and governing institutional capital for the next generation of digital infrastructure.
That forward focus rests on real depth of experience. The founding team has spent two decades originating, building and achieving successful exits through full market cycles. We bring that judgement — and the regulatory rigour it demands — to a new class of opportunity.

Governance
Independent by Design
Because Gorilla Technology Group plays a commercial role in originating opportunities, our governance framework is deliberately built to exceed typical standards — so that institutional investors can be confident the platform is not, and cannot become, a financing vehicle steered by the Group’s commercial interests.
Investment decisions rest with an investment committee structured to prevent Group-majority decision-making. A formal veto applies to all related-party (“Category A”) transactions, supported by independent valuation and benchmarking. An Independent Non-Executive Director is to be appointed to hold this veto; pending that appointment, the Chair, Hugh Stewart (SMF9), exercises it on an interim basis. The framework operates under the UK Senior Managers & Certification Regime, with clearly allocated accountability and second-line compliance oversight.

- Independent veto over all related-party transactions (held by the Chair pending appointment of an Independent NED)
- Mandatory independent valuation & mid-point pricing on related-party deals
- Quarterly conflicts-register review
- Remuneration not linked to Group commercial performance

Heritage
Named for a Story of Leadership Against the Odds
The platform’s heritage traces to Shackleton Finance, founded in the spirit of Sir Ernest Shackleton — whose leadership, resilience and determination brought his entire crew home from the Antarctic against impossible odds.
That spirit of perseverance remains central to our mission: to support ambitious infrastructure projects with patient capital, disciplined execution and the conviction to keep moving forward. The skills that built a two-decade track record of backing companies and seeing them through to exit are exactly the skills this new direction demands.
Shackleton’s example is a reminder that innovation, perseverance and inspirational leadership are the essential bedrock for any successful venture.
